Why Does Sita Get Disturbed but Lakshman Remains Steady? — The Inner Journey Explained

Question

Ma’am, a small question related to Sita and Lakshman.

You said Sita represents pure thinking, and Lakshman represents thought power.
Now, Lakshman — thought power — was born along with Ram and never left his side.
But Sita — pure thinking — appeared later, after Ram broke Parashurama’s bow.

If you see in the story, Lakshman never leaves Ram, but Sita, the pure thinking, gets disturbed — like when she hears the cry of the golden deer.
Her purity gets shaken, while thought power remains steady.

So, why does pure thinking become disturbed, but thought power stays strong?

Answer

This represents our inner journey — the continuous movement taking place within us.

Just as in our outer life, we experience constant change, the same happens inwardly too.
When we walk on the path of truth and purity, that doesn’t mean we’ll never stumble.
We do fall sometimes.

The ego — the ahankar — is not completely destroyed right away.
It keeps rising again and again in different forms — those are the “messengers of Ravana.”
It is through these very inner attacks that our purity — Sita — gets tested and refined.

So when Sita becomes disturbed, it means that within us, the emotion of attachment or desire (moh) arises.
That moh is one of Ravana’s closest companions — one of his energies.

Thus, even after awakening to Self-knowledge, inner impurities don’t vanish overnight.
They resurface in subtler ways to challenge and strengthen us.

The disturbance of Sita symbolizes this moment — when pure thinking momentarily gets clouded by attachment.
But notice — Lakshman, the thought power, never wavers.

Why? Because the power to think, the capacity itself, doesn’t get destroyed.
Only its direction fluctuates.
When purity (Sita) is disturbed, thought power remains standing beside awareness (Ram), silently protecting and observing.

This is the process of spiritual growth — gradual purification.
When you start walking on the path of truth, at first you may still fall back into old patterns.

Earlier you might have spoken ten lies and one truth.
Now you speak nine lies and one truth.
Step by step, that changes — until a time comes when you speak truth ten times and lie not even once.

That’s how the journey moves — slowly, steadily, one fall, one rise at a time.
So Sita’s disturbance doesn’t mean loss of purity — it means purity in process.
And Lakshman’s steadiness represents the mind’s unwavering strength that continues supporting awareness through every challenge.
